This Vaxbo linen made quite an interestingly geometric cake.

Happy Birthday to M. C. Escher born on June 17, 1898. Also commemorated as World Tessellation Day in honor of Escher's iconic tiling and morphing art.
Celebrate with knitting patterns inspired by Escher's artwork. These patterns and more on my Escher knitting pattern post

Flower Stole - a new project.
I bought a third ball from the same yarn (but different dye lot) that I'd used for the cardigan (which is still drying) - just in case.
I'll turn it into a stole with a simple flower pattern, worked on the bias but with a straight cast on. Pretty mindless, 8 stitch / 8 row pattern repeat.
I started it to take to the #KIP event.

#knitting friends, this is your friendly neighbourhood incompetent man asking for advice, again:
I’m left-handed and self-taught, I learned how to knit the right-handed way and ironically could only do it English/throwing style.
I tried continental but just couldn’t crack the tension nor most of the movements to be honest.
Anyway, I want to try and learn continental, mainly because I’m older now and my elbow/shoulder start hurting after a while of throwing.
Any tips and advice gratefully received, on how to swap from 16 years of one style of knitting to another.
Thanks!
Awesome nerdy video that explains some of the many many types of fabric and how their geometry affects their properties and the machines that make them.

For example, it explains that satin is shiny and flowy because of its weave.

I started knitting this cardigan in November last year, albeit slowly. Decided to get serious and have been working flat out on it since April 14th.
I *might* just about finish it by my deadline (this Thursday), but I've had time for no other projects for the last two months and my hands hate me.
Just the ribbing and seaming and blocking to go, but seriously, how are other people cranking out these big projects so fast? I do not understand.
Gonna reward myself with a chonky project next, I think 😅
So I took two of my blankets to my local stitching bitches last night as I knew they would appreciate them rather than the that’s nice from partner. They took these photos #handmade #knitting #knittersofmastodon
I've finished the knitted hat for my kid. The pattern is a variation of the classic #binge Fasan, but with longer tails on the birds, because we've got plenty of pheasants running around here and they've got longer tails than that, mummy...
😍 Free knitting pattern for Pride Progress Flag by designer Lee Meredith. She's added a back and turned into a top but you can use in multiple ways. Knit with garter stitch. I love this so much!

I enjoyed this story about a local craft store creating a scarf for a football player. The scarf has a design that records the wins and losses of the Chicago Bears in the quarterback's first season on the team. #Chicago #knitting https://blockclubchicago.org/2025/06/05/caleb-williams-says-his-new-bears-scarf-from-beverly-knit-shop-miss-purl-is-pretty-fire/
I also started the #tenstichtwistblanket 😃
But it will become a sort of vest... I hope so anyway! 😅

The next Fedi #CraftClub meeting will be Sunday, Jul 6, at 10a pacific/1p eastern!

We're usually there for 2 hours.
Craft Club is meant to be a chill space - I ask that you not bring up politics. I want people to be able to talk about their personal lives and experiences, but this is a time to not dwell upon the horrors.
sign up at https://lu.ma/v4bwyhxj to receive an email with the zoom link (should arrive about an hour before)
Finn would like me to stop knitting now.
My tee time tee progress (pattern linked below) - it starts with a provisional cast on, then jumping right into raglan - I'm knitting it in an alpaca/wool blend (compensating for the stretch that will happen) (worsted) and love how it's coming out so far.
Chantal Miyagishima is a fantastic designer, I always know what I'm getting when I buy her patterns.
I wanted to have a go at making my own illusion #knitting pattern completely from scratch, to make something I could hang on the wall.
So, I decided to try and convert Jarre’s Concerts in China cover to an illusion knitting chart.
It wasn’t easy, in fact it was harder than knitting the damn thing 😅
But I managed it in the end and I think the results are quite good, especially for a first attempt 😊
My wife is gonna frame it for me soon then it’ll go on the Jarre wall.
Yes, I have a Jarre wall. BITE ME.
New project - #knitting
I've this yarn (2 balls) sitting around for quite a while. It's 100% cotton, fingering weight and about 1.000 m each.
The plan was to turn it into a cardigan and I've been searching for a pattern or idea where I could use all of the yarn but have no "breaks" in the color sequence. So basically something that really is worked in one piece. Or two pieces. From the arms to the center or vice versa.
I've found it - more info later.

Friend of a friend reports that another friend got a job in tech straight out of university, zero experience, because they had learned three medieval languages for their degree, and could read a #knitting pattern.
The interviewer allegedly said:
"Well, you won't have any problems learning to code, will you !!"

Asking #Canadian Knitters, especially those on the West Coast: What's your favourite Canadian online yarn store?
I used to shop almost exclusively from KnitPicks solely for the convenience (using they pattern/yarn kit building features, their circular needle system, etc.), but recent *waves hand vaguely towards our neighbours down south* has me searching for a more local alternative.
My own cursory searches have brought up the websites of West Coast Wools (Vancouver) and Wool & Waves (Comox Valley), but I'm also interested in your personal experiences/favourites and where you go for your yarn/supplies fix.
Thank you in advance to anyone who responds! Apologies if I don't reply, I have limited energy, but I appreciate anything you're able to share! <3
