I found an interesting book of old maps and urban plans of #Helsinki, some of which I had never seen. Here are a few cool ones from the 1600s, 1700s and the 1800s. I love this type of cartography, and I have a reproduction of one of these on my wall, because of course I do.
@waeiski Interesting details in the 18th century map: the seemingly huge fortifications "Cast. Ulricasborg" and "Cast. Broberget", which I hadn't heard of before. Ulricasborg would be the "fortification line that was built at the southern edge of the area during the 18th century (no longer visible), as part of the town fortifications, which also included the fortress of Suomenlinna" mentioned in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ullanlinna?wprov=sfti1#, but I can't find any mention of Broberget.
