In honor of the general elections coming up in Singapore I’ll share some Singaporean terms in various languages.
1. KPKB
When you see this, it’s the colorful Hokkien phrase ‘kao peh kao bu’
It means ‘crying for both my father and mother’
This usually refers to ‘making a scene’. As in ‘boss gave him extra work to do at the last minute so he kpkb’
In political terms, my minister of parliament (Iswaran) was recently arrested for one of the worst corruption cases in our history, so you can be sure his party is KPKB right now
