#Italy / Rome mural depicts Hitler-Netanyahu kiss, artist condemns Gaza genocide
Street artist #Laika created a provocative mural outside #Rome's Liceo Manara showing #Hitler kissing #Netanyahu, titled "The Final Solution." The artwork appeared overnight on May 25-26, depicting the Nazi dictator congratulating the Israeli PM on the Gaza genocide conduct.
Laika stated she chose an extreme image to shock press and public opinion, arguing that the Israeli government is conducting systematic annihilation of Palestinians with Western support. Referring to the ethnic cleansing attempt of Gaza, she’s noting that 81% of Gaza is occupied and the civilian population starved, with over 20,000 children killed.
[…] "I chose an extreme image to shock press and public opinion. The Israeli government, with support from the United States and European Union (Italy and Germany leading), is carrying out a systematic operation of annihilation of the Palestinian people."
She also criticizes European hypocrisy for sanctioning Russia over Ukraine while remaining silent on Israeli actions.
