I've always loved seeing those silky smooth waterfall photos, and I'm finally learning how to capture that!

@killyourfm Love both but the first really got me, idk why
@killyourfm I tried that once as well, it's pretty fun to do!
I believe I also took two photos and then combined them into one that was sharp and sparkly on one side and smooth on the other (might find it on my computer and post later if you were interested :))
@korsier It seems to be that, but also adjusting the aperture so the right amount of light comes in. It's tricky for me, but I'm an absolute beginner.
@killyourfm Okay so these photos of a weir were shot in October on a Nikon 1 V1 with a 30-110mm lens.
The sparkly photo needed a much shorter exposure time so you can see a bit of noise on the water and trees from the increased ISO :)
@mirkobrombin I feel more drawn to the first one as well. Maybe because powerful, rushing water can elicit a stronger emotion? It's more natural, a better representation of its actual state?
@killyourfm yeah, I think it looks more natural, that's exactly the point for me
