Glad we went biking while it was sunny because now it's dark. Here are some nice thistle flowers I stopped to snap.

Two thistle flowers side by side, one young and bright purple, the other gone to fluffy white seed.

The same two flowers seen from below, backlit against the sky, so we see the shapes more than the colors. They look like vases that are differently shaped but well coordinated to contrast with each other, one with a more rounded bottom and explosion of flowers at the top, the other more slender and with more constrained flowers at the top.
