I mean, nothing is stopping them now and we don't see those kind of things, but, as money isn't a thing here interested people are not yet on the Fediverse.
However, when monetization is coming, you change how people sée the plateforme. First they'll get paid by donations, then it won't be enough, they'll start sponsoring their content and bam. Ads on the Fediverse.
