Fellow game devs, can you recommend any localization partners that do 100% human translation and support a good range of languages?
@apparition Can't recommend anyone in particular, but you might want to reach out to some folks on https://localization.cafe/about. :)
@apparition I was recommended Level Up Translation for my last translation job, which was only a store page but could have eventually included full game text.
They did a good job and were easy to work with.
Hi @aran, I see you run a localization-focused Mastodon server! I was wondering whether you might have any suggestions for me.
I guess I should mention my game is very light on text so this will likely be a small job(s). 😅
Also, the languages I need to support are: French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Polish.
Update: I may have found a potential partner for this over on Bluesky. Just wanted to relay this development here. 😄
@apparition Yes. I wholeheartedly recommend Concha Fernández, who handled about ten languages for Return to Monkey Island. She'll build the whole localization team for you and manage the process, it's great. Find her here: https://cfernandez.me/
@apparition There are the warlocs. What I've seen of their translation to German it was absolutely spot on.

@Esmeralda Thank you for the suggestion! Someone on Bluesky recommended them too. 😄
@thatdave Thank you for the great recommendation! I'm already in touch with someone who reached out on Bluesky, but things could still change. Good to have options!
@TyrusPeace Thanks for the suggestion! I don't see anything on their website about human translation but I'll reach out to them.
