Rome has really stepped up the book game since I was last here. My favorite bookstores had SHELVES of diverse (and local) folklore and mythology, an entire new series of folklore and one on specific Italian cultural history topics, women's history selections, and other assorted goodness. They even published a new book series on the Forum, Colosseum and Domus Aurea which are pretty good.
My wallet is sad but it made me very happy 😅
