I have no idea which day of the week is supposed to be #mosstodon day, so have a picture of the remains of a tree trunk covered in moss. When the tree fell down on its own in a storm, it didn't have any moss on it. Three years later, the remaining stump which is laying pretty much where I left it after lugging it out of the wood, is now well and truly providing life for a whole range of other species, including this moss, some fungal spores, and several wood boring insects, and those are just the ones I can see.
