I despair about the field of economics. On the right wing side, you have the Austrian, Chicago and Virginia school of economics, and then the so-called “reality” heterodox represented by Steve Keen in opposition.

But he credulously swallows austerity ideology as a good faith argument.

This guy says he’s interested in facts, but he’s never looked at deficit versus which political parties are in power. ..

Because austerity is an ideological lever to impoverish working people. Every Republican administration has increased deficit spending ..

From Reagan. To Shrub and Cheney saying deficits don’t matter in 2002.

Republicans don’t give a shit about the deficit. they give a shit starving spending that benefits the population, and they just love fiscal spending on things the rich benefit from.

Just look at the budget that was just passed.
