If Rachel Reeves wants to increase the propensity of savers to shift cash in to shares, she might want to address some of the myriad suspicions many of us have that the investment industry is peopled by spivs aiming to use our money to enrich themselves.... and let me tell you, reducing regulation on financial services is unlikely to convince anyone that the investment industry is more trust-worthy.
