Why it is so painful to have a fancy email address? It is almost impossible to use, and I am not about DKIM/SPF/DMARC (what I finally fixed today!).
Some websites do not accept anything except gmail and hotmail addresses at registration form.
So sometimes not only my fancy "example.house" type of address declined, but even fallback address at mailbox.org !
Basically it is easier to buy fancy car license plate or phone number, than email address like me@example.house 😞
Hmm, I usually have the opposite issue - Gmail not accepted. But then I have a Chinese address and that's not accepted in many cases either.
@Bic Part of problem may be something like "too deeply buried into box" mindset of some libraries used to validate mailboxes addresses.
For example I used house TLD, and this is beyond old `com`, `org`, `net`, mil`, `biz` and classic 2 letter iso codes.
So if someone use too simple validation for email address, and don't expect TLD like `mail`, `house`, or `museum` or even `art`, or `dev`, such address like mine would be declined.
Yes, i understand, sort of: fear of the unknown.
I think it's also fear in-so-much--as media are constantly reporting xx country is trying to destroy "our" way of life and so react accordingly with their security settings.
