This small patch of waste ground next to a petrol station seems to have been reclaimed and sown with flowers.
The sign looks home-made, so hopefully it's not a cynical green washing attempt by Esso.
I'm hoping it's someone who just wanted it to look a bit nicer.

@AnnaUK these days the oil company has little input on how the land is used - the petrol station is normally a franchise and the business owner (often a big chain like MFG, Eurogarages etc) and the local management are left to deal with stuff like Council licensing, safety etc - its quite possible they allowed or even encouraged the wildflowers to be planted there (it also benefits them by showing there isn't a cracked tank and contaminated land)
TBH oil companies these days don't even bother with publishing maps or books about motoring (like they used to), let alone try any form of local greenwashing..
